Worth going the extra mile for

Share the gastronomic adventures of bloggers KampungboyCitygal as they check out a seafood place in Klang.

CRAVING for good yet affordable Chinese dishes? Make your way to Restoran Boston Baru at Jalan Kapar in Klang and you will get to tantalise your taste buds with some scrumptious dishes, or at least that’s what bloggers KampungboyCitygal say.

The restaurant is located just opposite the KWSP outlet and is on the same row as Lembaga Tabung Haji. It opens at 7pm.

“If you are a seafood fanatic, Restoran Boston Baru is the place to go. Our friend, Miss J who knows her way around Klang, brought us here for dinner one day and it is apparent that Klang people love this place too,” they wrote.

Simple: The plain façade of Restoran Boston Baru belies the good food served there.

They arrived exactly at 7pm only to find that the place was already packed and all the tables were fully occupied.

“We even bumped into James, who went home disappointed after seeing the crowd.

“Finally the long wait was over when the butter mantis prawn came to our table hot and crispy. Butter Mantis Prawn with Corn (RM15) – so delicious that it is worth going the extra mile for.”

Unlike some versions that have too much flour, Boston’s version is perfect with the right proportion of batter, said the bloggers.

“The butter sauce with corn was incredibly rich and creamy with an enriched butter taste. Definitely one of the best!

“Steamed Lala with Superior Stock (RM12) is one of their signature dishes and you can easily spot it on every table. Steamed with fried garlic, birds eye chilli, ginger and rice wine, the lala were so fresh and juicy.

Boston Baru serves good yet affordable dishes such as Steamed Lala With Superior Stock.

“The sweet and spicy superior stock was extremely addictive to the senses too. Even for a person who can tolerate spicy food well, KampungBoy still found it spicy (in a good way),” Citygal commented.

“The Sizzling Seafood (RM25) came last. The prawns, squids and fish were fresh but the sauce was too salty for our liking. Other than that, we ordered some greens to add nutritional balance to the meal.

“Aside from the famous butter mantis prawn and Steamed Lala with Superior Stock, Boston Baru is famous for its Nestum mantis prawn and Hokkien noodles as well.

“We were warned about the long wait beforehand, so it is a good idea to either go earlier or be prepared to hang about for an hour or so.”

If you want to make a reservation or are not sure of how to get there, the number to call is 016-268 3104 or 012-905 3523.
