Committee to coordinate women’s programmes

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has set up the Women’s Programme Coordination Committee to avoid duplication of women’s programmes in the state and enhance their effectiveness.

In making the announcement, State Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said the committee would implement the 10-year master plan for women’s development in line with the 1Malaysia concept.

She said the committee comprised 40 members representing all government departments and agencies to coordinate programmes that could achieve the target needs.

“We feel that whatever programmes and plans implemented by the state and federal governments must be integrated,” she told reporters after chairing a meeting of the committee. - Bernama
