New president for Gombak Rotary Club

The 39th installation of the president and board of directors of the Rotary Club of Gombak took place at the Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 3.

The night saw immediate past president Ridzuan Yang install Peter Pek as the new club president.

Highlights of the evening included the official launch of “Mozziesafe”, an international service project of the Club; and a presentation of RM20,000 to three charities — Persatuan Dyslexia, PS The Children and Yayasan Salaam.

The event was attended by Rotary Club representatives from District 3300, as well as a contingent of around 30 visiting Rotarians from Gombak’s sister clubs — the Rotary Club of Tanglin, Singapore; Rotary Club of Makati South, the Philippines; and Rotary Club of Taipei Southwest, Taiwan.

The guest of honour was Youssouf Mohammad Oomar, Country Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund.
