Mirza joined TDC in the 80s

Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab held various positions in the Board before he was promoted to director-general on Sept 1, 2006.

He joined Tourist Development Corporation Malaysia, as the organisation was known then, in the 1980s after graduating with a Diploma in Tourism Administration and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.

While in service, he continued his studies in business administration and received a Master’s degree from Universiti Teknologi Mara/Ohio University in 1993.

As deputy director-general 1 of Tourism Malaysia, he was in charge of various key portfolios, including advertising, international promotions, conventions, marketing support services, communications and domestic promotions.

He also led delegations abroad to promote the country’s tourism.
