Tunku Mahkota to lead tour for 10th year

JOHOR BARU: For the 10th year, Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar will lead the Kembara Mahkota Johor.

An entourage of 30 high-powered motorcycles, four-wheel-drives and cars will accompany Tunku Ibrahim during his visit to districts in the state.

State secretary Datuk Abd Latiff Yusof said the tour would begin on July 24 from the Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim and end at Hutan Bandar Putra in Kulai Jaya on July 27.

Among the dignitaries expected to participate are Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“We expect to travel 910km throughout the state,” he said in his speech yesterday before the launching of the Kembara logo by Tunku Ibrahim.

Abd Latiff said state government departments and agency directors would also take part in the tour.

He said the tour's aim was to meet and distribute aid to the people while taking part in community activities.

Among the expected destinations are Bandar Baru Pontian, Maktab Teknik PDRM, Muar, Kampung Sagil, Tangkak, Labis and Bandar Kluang, Simpang Renggam and Felda Endau.
