M. MANOGARAN has found a new interest and he’s been spending plenty of time on this passion.

We are talking about the local coffee of Teluk Intan, which the MP has recently discovered and he is now a big fan of the brew.

But the father-of-four maintains that the best is still his wife’s home-cooked meals, and lists his missus’ sardine curry as one of the best.

Apart from that, Manogaran indulges in retro music, especially rock numbers from the 70s and 80s, and lists among his favourite the Eagles’ Hotel California, Frank Sinatra’s My Way and songs by Lobo.

How much time to do you spend on the computer?

Not as much as I’d like to. I use it mainly for e-mail, and catching up on the news.

Occasionally, tennis with friends, and badminton with friends and family.

Teh halia and teh tarik. I am beginning to be a big fan of Teluk Intan local coffee.

What is your contribution to environmental conservation?

During my tenure as president of the Tamil Education and Research Foundation, I have organised the Young Nature Campers programme for Tamil schools around the country – to educate students on the importance of nature conservation. I recycle my office and home waste, and teach my children that it is our obligation and responsibility to look after Mother Earth for future generations.

Lord Denning, for his sense of justice. Some of Lord Denning’s decisions subsequently became law in England. He opened up new frontiers in legal reasoning.
