Miwaki plans two more Lacoste stores

SEPANG: Miwaki Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Lacoste apparel in Malaysia, expects to spend about RM2mil to set up two more Lacoste boutiques this year.

Managing director Carole Ooi said the boutique's renovation and stocks were expected to cost RM1mil each.

“We will be setting up one outlet each at The Gardens at MidValley Megamall and another at Pavilion in Petaling Jaya.

“We expect the new outlets to be ready in September,” she said at the opening of the company's 63.3-sq m boutique at the KL International Airport (KLIA).

Also present were Malaysian Airports Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad, Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd director Umar Bustaman, representative from French Trade Commission Yassine Amraoui and Devalay Asia Pacific Supplies Co Ltd regional director Gilles Mennessier.

Ooi said the company was optimistic that its KLIA outlet would perform “excellently'', given the high passenger traffic at the airport.

She added that the company had allocated about 10% of its turnover for marketing and promotion.

Miwaki has two other boutiques in One Utama Shopping Centre and Starhill Gallery.

It also has two corners at Isetan department stores in Suria KLCC and Lot 10.

The company also distributes other brands such as Elle, B.S.C, Guy Laroche and J. L. Scherrer.
