From college to UTeM


MALACCA: Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM) has been conferred university status and will be known as Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) from now on. 

Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Ismail Hassan said UTeM would be more “competitive” and able to compete on a stronger footing with the upgrading. 

Its upgrading will be starting point towards establishing a technical university of high standing, he said in a statement. 

With a staff strength of 1,141, UTeM has 5,336 students pursuing diploma, degree, master's and PhD courses. – Bernama
