Perak Chinese Soccer Kids programme will begin next month

THE Perak Chinese Recreation Club (PCRC) and Perak MCA are jointly organising a football development programme for Chinese school students in November and December in a move to promote the game.

The Perak Chinese Soccer Kids programme will be held at PCRC Club field at Lorong Chung Thye Phin in Ipoh on Nov 17, Nov 18, Nov 24 and Nov 25 and on Dec 1, Dec 2, Dec 8 and Dec 9.

Perak MCA vice-secretary Liew Mun Hon, who is a member of the panel of advisers for the programme, said the participants would be taught the basics, techniques and ball skills.

He said the programme was limited to 100 participants who would be divided into four age categories – seven to eight, nine to 10, 11 to 12 and 13 to 14. Each training session will last two hours.

Liew said each participant would be charged RM50 and given two T-shirts, a pair of shorts, a pair of socks, a football and a shoe bag.

Perak Football Association coaching director M. Karathu, who is also a member of the panel of advisers, said children should take the opportunity to polish their football skills by joining the programme.

He said those who wanted to excel in sports should start training from young.

Those keen to join the programme have to register themselves between 9.30am and 1pm on Oct 28 at the PCRC Club Building at No 2, Lorong Chung Thye Phin in Ipoh.
