Sky Kingdom followers taken in for questioning

News Update by The Star Newsdesk

JERTEH: Sixty-four followers of Sky Kingdom cult leader Ariffin Mohamad, better known as Ayah Pin, were brought from their commune to the Besut district police headquarters in Kampung Raja near here for questioning.

This followed an operation by the Terengganu State Religious Department, which began at 11.25am Wednesday.

More than 100 policemen assisted the department in the operation.

It is understood that the officers were looking for Ayah Pin but he was not seen in the area.

Authorities cordoned the commune in Hulu Besut and barred members of the media from going anywhere near it.
