Chief Executive Officer

The inaugural StarBiz-ICR Malaysia Corporate Responsibility Awards was launched in January 2008, and culminated in an Awards ceremony to honour the winners of the Awards in August 2008. The awards ceremony was graced by HRH Raja Nazrin Shah, The Crown Prince of Perak Darul Ridzuan.

This initiative is the result of a partnership between The Star and Institute of Corporate Responsibility (ICR) Malaysia, together with its working partners, ACCA, PwC and SIDC.

Held for the second time, this year’s awards will continue to highlight the significance and importance of responsible business practices in Malaysian companies. It is supported by the Securities Commission Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia Berhad.

By emphasising the language of corporate responsibility, we wish to encourage companies to focus more on thinking about what business they are in and how they choose to operate that business. Thinking about CR helps our businesses consider how we go about doing the business we have chosen, and to inject responsible behaviours into the value chain.
