Bowling: Sarawak lasses rule the day

JOHOR BARU: It was Sarawak's day in the girls' events of the national schools (MSSM) bowling championships, which got underway at the Daiman Bowl in Johor Jaya here yesterday.

They won the two gold medals at stake with Najihah Deli getting the ball rolling for the East Malaysian girls when she took the individual Under-12 gold with a score of 701 (166-151-163-221).

Jacqueline Jenelee Sijori made it a double joy for Sarawak when she clinched the Under-15 individual gold, rattling her rivals with some aggressive bowling with lines of 214-228-217-211-213 before going below 200 in her final game on 193, which was still good enough to give the title and a new record of 1,276.
