Six-match ban for Benfica’s Binya
BERNE: Benfica midfielder Augustin Binya has been handed a six-match European ban by UEFA for a tackle on Celtics Scott Brown during a Champions League match.
UEFA announced the punishment yesterday following a meeting of their disciplinary body a day earlier.
Binya, who received a red card for the 85th minute foul, will now miss his clubs last two Group D matches AC Milan on Nov 28 and at Shakhtar Donetsk on Dec 4.
Celtic won the Nov 6 match 1-0 to climb above Benfica into third place, three points behind leaders AC Milan. Reuters
