Determined Delia breaks jinx to reach worlds second round

KUALA LUMPUR: Delia Arnold finally ended an eight-year jinx after clearing the first round at the Naza Women’s World Championship.

The 30-year-old Malaysian, a first-round dropout in all her previous attempts since 2008, heaved a sigh of relief after beating Egyptian youngster Mariam Metwally 12-10, 10-12, 12-10, 11-9 at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil on Monday.
