PETALING JAYA: World No. 1 Nicol David and national No. 2 Low Wee Wern booked their places in the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Championship after hard-fought second-round wins.

The 31-year-old Nicol came under early heavy pressure from English qualifier Emily Whitlock before pulling through with a 12-10, 11-9, 11-1 win at the Wadi Degla Squash Club in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday.
