Abdul Hadi Abdul Malik registered a personal best of 179.1 points in the 50m air pistol event to win gold at the Tun Hanif Trophy Shooting Championship in Subang on Sunday.
SUBANG: Teenager Abdul Hadi Abdul Malik of Pahang overcame poor visibility to upstage more established shooters to win the men’s individual 50m pistol gold medal in the Tun Hanif Trophy Shooting Championships at the Subang Shooting Range.
The 50m pistol event was held outdoors and it started to rain heavily when the final began at 3.30pm. However, 18-year-old Abdul Hadi stayed focused despite the poor visibility to register a personal best of 179.1 points to finish ahead of national shooter Jasmi Mohamed Zin of Negri Sembilan, who could only manage 177.8 points.
