Akmal-Thahira secure bronze at world petanque meet

PETALING JAYA: Syed Akmal Fikri Syed Ali (above) and Nur Thahira Abdul Aziz (below) won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles event at the World Petanque Championships in Ghent, Belgium.

It was Malaysia’s only second medal in world meet history after Mohd Nuzul Azwan Ahmad Temizi finished third in the men’s precision shooting in Marseille, France in 2012.
