The two-time world champion said that the recognition given to the sport at the 50th edition of National Sports Awards ceremony held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Wednesday was a “huge boost” for silat.
“It was totally unexpected. Silat does not enjoy a big following, unlike the other popular sports. So, it is a real honour to win this award at the National Sports Awards Golden Jubilee celebrations,” said Al-Jufferi.
