Father-to-be Lebesson leads France to victory in world table tennis meet


SHAH ALAM: Jittery Emmanuel Lebesson delivered the crucial point in France’s narrow 3-2 win over Sweden to qualify for the quarter-finals in the World Team Table Tennis Championships.

The soon-to-be-father, whose wife Marion will deliver their first child, won the decisive point in the fifth game. He defeated lanky Mattias Karlsson 11-4, 10-12, 11-8, 5-11, 11-6 in their penultimate Group B match at the Malawati Stadium on Tuesday.
