PETALING JAYA: Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah (pic) will be out to close the gap on Italian rider Franco Morbidelli in the fight for the Best Rookie of the Year award at the Japanese MotoGP in Motegi this weekend.

Hafizh landed in Japan yesterday after a promising 12th place finish at the Thailand MotoGP race in Buriram last week and is trailing Morbidelli by five points.
