SEPANG: Newly-crowned Moto2 world champion Johann Zarco secured a much-needed confidence boost in his bid to claim his eighth win of the season after finishing third fastest overall in practice for the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

The Ajo Motorsports French rider struggled with tyre grip at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Phillip Island last Sunday and only managed to finish seventh.
