PETALING JAYA: The sixth round of the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix 2014 will resume at Kluang, Johor on Aug 23-24 instead of Teluk Intan as intially scheduled.
The Teluk Intan’s race will now be moved to the seventh round on Sept 27-28. The amendments were made in respect to the 100 days mourning period following Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah’s passing last 28th May.
“The 100 days mourning period for Sultan Muhibbuddin Shah has yet to past and in respect to the state government and people of Perak, we have decided to postpone the race and host Round Six in Kluang.”
“We will return to Teluk Intan in September once the mourning period is over late September,” said Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd Promotions Director, Ron Hogg, event promoter for the Cub Prix Championship.
Givi Honda Yuzy Racing’s Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi, who leads the current CP130 standings with 100 points, holds a strong 27 points lead over Ahmad Afif Amran and Norizman Ismail who are tied on 73 points.
Mohd Affendi Rosli is in fourth with 63 points while Ahmad Fazli Sham sits in fifth 10 points adrift.
Meanwhile, Penangite Zaidy Mohd Zaifaizal finally regained his form after three disappointing seasons.
He leads the CP115 standings with 103 points ahead of Motul Yamaha YY Pang compatriots, Izzat Zaidi Salehan and Tengku Amirul Haffiruddin with 87 and 75 points respectively.
