Super Zaq claims fourth win at home

PETALING JAYA: Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi claimed his fourth CP130 win this season when he emerged triumphant in the fifth leg of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championships in Temerloh.

Racing in front of his home crowd in Temerloh, the Givi Honda Yuzy rider completed the 18-lap race in 13:24.203 ahead of Norizman Ismail of Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK (13:30.788) and Mohd Adib Rosley of Motul Yamaha YY Pang (13:30.844).

Zaqhwan was fortunate to clinch the win after enduring a bad start. He fought hard with Norizman who held the lead for five laps at the start but lack of fitness due to a training injury forced Norizman to concede the lead.

“Temerloh marks a very special race for me because I managed to do it in front of my family, friends and supporters… it makes winning taste so much sweeter.

Motul Yamaha YY Pang made a clean sweep of the podium in the CP115 class with Mohd Izzat Zaidi Salehan on the top of the podium, followed by Zaidy Mohd Zaifaizal and Tengku Amirul Haffiruddin in second and third respectively.
