Mixed results for Jazeman in Formula Renault debut

Jazeman Jaafar: 'It feels great to have so quickly established myself as a frontrunner.'

PETALING JAYA: It was a mixed weekend for Jazeman Jaafar in his debut ISR Racing appearance in the opening round of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in Monza.

The 21-year-old Jazeman arrived in the Italian city full of determination and qualified fifth for the first race on Sunday. He failed to finish the race after his car was hit by Danish driver Marco Sorensen as the two raced down the front straight. Sorensen’s car was catapulted into the air but both drivers escaped unhurt. Sorensen was later penalised with a five-place grid penalty for causing the accident.
