Malaysian Ainil takes first-round lead in style

PETALING JAYA: Ainil Johani Bakar matched her career-lowest score – a seven-under 65 – to grab the first-round lead at the Hong Kong Ladies Open.

The 27-year-old collected eight birdies and a bogey at the Hong Kong Golf Club yesterday to lead by a shot from Thailand’s Supamas Sangchan. China’s Li Jiayun and Pan Yen-ling of Taiwan are a further stroke back.
