Nicholas takes clubhouse lead despite painful arm

KUALA LUMPUR: Nicholas Fung (pic) defied an aching right arm to card a five-under 66 for a share of the first-round clubhouse lead with Singapore’s Koh Deng Shan at the weather-hit PGM UMW Championship.

The 26-year-old Nicholas packed seven birdies and two bogeys into 11 holes from the sixth to match Deng Shan at the top as 48 players out of the 141-man field failed to complete their round due to lightning threat at the TPC Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
