PETALING JAYA: Favourites Low Khai Jei of Perak and Princess Mary Superal of the Philippines stretched their leads in the boys’ and girls’ Under-18 categories to 16 and 18 shots respectively after the second round of the RSGC AmBank Junior Amateur Open Golf Championship at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC).
Khai Jei scored a 68 for the second day running on Wednesday to amass a total of 136 to leave Danial Mohd Sidek, of the Air Force Recreation Club (KRTU), and Kota Permai Golf Club’s T. Kishaan trailing in his wake. The duo have a two-day total of 152.
Judging by his score, Khai Jei should have no problem wrapping up the title in Thursday’s final round.
The same can be said of Princess Mary as well. She shot a two-under 70 for a two-day total of 141 – miles ahead of second-placed Nyca Khaw of KRTU with 159 and third-placed S. Raesha of Kota Permai Golf Club at 161.
In the boys’ Under-15 category, defending champion Bryan Teoh’s reign is slowly slipping away after he carded a horrendous 77 to lie four strokes behind joint leaders Lucas Yee and Galven Green, both of Perak.
Lucas and Galven have a two-day total of 147 against Bryan’s 151.
