PETALING JAYA: The 28th edition of the FA Cup final will be held at the Shah Alam Stadium on May 20.
Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam said the 80,000 capacity venue was chosen because of the high spectator interest to watch the final.
“There were proposals to host the final outside the Klang Valley. But it’s not the best move as there is a big demand to watch a Cup final every season. And the number of spectators can reach up to 80,000,” said Kevin.
More than 75,000 fans turned up for last year’s final between Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and PKNS at the Shah Alam Stadium. JDT emerged champions after a 2-1 win.
Tickets are priced at RM50 for adults and RM5 for children below 12 years old.
