Subri: My son wanted to quit football but I talked him out of it

AYER HITAM: FIFA Puskas best goal 2016 award winner Mohd Faiz Subri (pic) had almost given up football in his younger days.

The 29-year-old Penang player created history on Tuesday as the first Asian recipient of the award. He won for his wildly bending free-kick goal during the Panthers’ 4-1 victory over Pahang in a Super League match on Feb 16 last year.
