LONDON: Contest winner Chen Jovi was over the moon when he found out he had won a trip to England to visit the Emirates Stadium. That would have been exciting enough for any Arsenal fan, but to also get a chance to watch Arsenal FC play an English Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion made it all the more memorable.
As luck would have it, Arsenal won that match 1-0 and the solitary goal was scored by Olivier Giroud, the club’s top scorer this season with 16 goals.
The 26-year-old Jovi, who works in an accountancy firm, was joined by his younger brother Henry, 24, who is a student.
Thanking contest organiser Carlsberg, Jovi said, “The trip would not have been possible if not for Carlsberg.”
Louise Bach, the marketing manager of Carlsberg in Britain, said that the beer company has been in football since the 70s, sponsoring the Danish national team.
Carlsberg is the English Premier League’s premium beer for three seasons from 2013/2014.
“By venturing into the English Premier League, we get a bigger scale of viewers as we have matches every weekend and during the week.
“The Premier League is also the strongest league in the world,” said Bach.
Jovi and his brother Henry were accompanied on the trip to the Emirates by a group of four Malaysian journalists.
