KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) are confident they will not be suspended under the Sports Development Act 1997.
At their council meeting on Monday, the MNCF decided to respond to the show cause letter issued by Sports Commissioner Ahmad Shapawi Ismail on Aug 21.
The MNCF are facing suspension by the Sports Commissioner after the Youth and Sports Ministry found irregularities in their expenditures.
“We believe there’s no reason why our explanations should be rejected. We will provide the Sports Commissioner with all the necessary documents involving our expenditure, particularly for the 2011 Le Tour de Langkawi,” said MNCF president Datuk Abu Samah Abdul Wahab after the council meeting.
He added that the MNCF would hand over the compiled report to Shapawi on Thursday.
