KUALA LUMPUR: National elite cyclist Loh Sea Keong is among five riders listed by the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) to spearhead the country’s challenge in the Asian Cycling Championship 2014 in Astana, Kazakhstan, from May 21-June 1.
MNCF president Datuk Abu Samah Abdul Wahab said the others are Mohd Zamri Salleh, Mohd Shahrul Mat Amin, Mohd Saiful Anuar Aziz (all from Terengganu Cycling Team) and Suhardi Hassan.
“Sea Keong’s selection was decided during a meeting with the chairman of the Road Racing Committee, Omar Saad. We need a professional rider with riding experience in Europe and other parts of the world to boost our chances,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He added that the riders would be accompanied by coach Aminudin Sulaiman, while Ramlay Ibrahim has been appointed team manager. — Bernama
