KUALA LUMPUR: National bowler Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi is racing against time to recover from a lower back injury to defend her Malaysian Open title at the Sunway Mega Lanes from May 1-7.

The 24-year-old from Perak suffered the injury during training two months ago.
