Sarawak men's trios deliver third bowling gold

KANGAR: Sarawak grabbed their third bowling gold at the Sukma after Christopher Tiong, Daniel Tan and Mohd Uzair Irsyad won the men’s trios event at the Perlis Bowl.

The trio knocked down 3,688 pins over six games to beat Sabah’s Ahmad Azraei Tamring, Ahmad Fawwaz Farhan and Mohd Ainal Narshad. The Sabahans accumulated a 3,624 total.

The Federal Territories trio of Adam Azza Zailan, Muhd Firdaus Idris and Qalif Adnor Adam settled for the bronze with a 3,606 total.

The final game of the second block was intense as Sarawak and FT were bowling side by side and both were in the running for the gold.

“We were not bothered by the other teams’ results. We just focused on our game and it paid off,” said Daniel, the singles gold medallist.

Sarawak’s other gold came from the women’s doubles pair of Jocelyna Judith Jonathan-Nerosha Keligit.
