Pearly pulls off victory in girls’ doubles but fails to make it a double in mixed


PETALING JAYA: It was a day of contrasting fortunes for doubles shuttler Pearly Tan Koong Le at the World Junior individual championships in Indonesia.

Pearly and her partner Toh Ee Wei marched into the girls’ doubles quarter-finals with a sensational 21-19, 17-21, 21-15 win over Leung Sze Lok-Yeung Pui Lam of Hong Kong at the Jaya Raya Sport Hall Training Centre in Jakarta yesterday.
