PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Tan Wee Kiong-Ong Yew Sin have finally defeated a higher ranked pair in their fourth international tournament – the Hong Kong Open in Kowloon. The unseeded Wee Kiong-Yew Sin stunned eighth seeds and world No. 6 Lee Jhe-huei-Lee-yang of Taiwan 21-16, 21-16 in the men’s doubles first round at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
They will take on professionals Tan Boon Heong-Hendra Setiawan for a place in the quarter-finals at the final leg of the Superseries.
