KUALA LUMPUR: Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei can count their lucky stars they are still in the hunt for the women’s doubles crown at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

The Malaysian No. 1 pair had to bring their A-game before scraping past England’s Heather Olver-Lauren Smith in the quarter-finals on Friday. The top seeds huffed and puffed their way to a 17-21, 21-11, 21-17 win.
