PETALING JAYA: Professional shuttler Tan Chun Seang’s bid to reach a third straight final in Vietnam was dashed after losing a slugfest to India’s H.S. Prannoy in the men’s singles semi-finals at the Vietnam Open.

The 28-year-old Chun Seang was runner-up in last year’s Vietnam Open and the Vietnam International Challenge in March this season. But his good run ended in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday as he went down 16-21, 21-14, 22-24 to the 22-year-old Prannoy.
