PETALING JAYA: Independent shuttlers Mohd Arif Abdul Latif and Tan Chun Seang kept Malaysia’s flag flying in the men’s singles competition of the Vietnam Open GP by qualifying for the quarter-finals.
In Ho Chi Minh City, world No. 61 Arif showed India’s Ajay Jayaram the exit by defeating the 15th seed 22-20, 21-16 in 40 minutes, while Chun Seang overcame Suppanyu Avithingsanon 22-20, 21-18 for his third straight win against the Thai seventh seed.
