Faris breaks discus record, thanks to YouTube

Selangor's Faris Hazim Jamaluddin broke the MSSM Track and Field Championship Under-18 discus record with a throw of 49.81m in Kedah on Sunday

ALOR SETAR: Coachless Faris Hazim Jamaluddin of Selangor relied on YouTube online tutorials to help him smash the boys’ Under-18 discus meet record at the National Schools Sports Council (MSSM) Track and Field Championships at the Darulaman Stadium.

The 17-year-old recorded a distance of 49.81m in his second attempt on Sunday to erase the 48.52m meet record set by Sabah’s Sean Teo 10 years ago in Kuantan.
