Connecting with reps a one-way affair

EVERY week, the Prime Minister addresses senior government officials on a range of issues, including serving the rakyat. A very simple example of serving the rakyat is to reply to e-mail from the rakyat. However, in most cases e-mail addresses of government officials are published in their website for display only. The rakyat who send e-mail to them invariably do not get any response, which is odd.

The new Pakatan Harapan government is no different from the previous administration in this. I have sent four separate e-mail to my MP but have not received a single reply. I sent one e-mail to the Finance Minister and got the same response.
