SPORT climbing is the new sport on the block for the coming Olympics. Sport climbing in the Asian Games 2018 featured three disciplines – speed, speed relay and combined (the athlete competes in speed, bouldering and lead climbing).
Korean rock star Chon Jongwon claimed the gold for men’s combined while Akiyo Noguchi (pic) took home the gold for the women’s combined discipline. Host Indonesia garnered three gold medals thanks to its speedsters while Iran secured the gold for men’s speed. Malaysia was nowhere close although the ambition for medals was there.
