MALAYSIA signed the United Nations Convention on Corruption (UNCAC) on Dec 9, 2003 and subsequently ratified it on Sept 24, 2008. The Convention came into force for Malaysia on Oct 4, 2008.
The UNCAC is the first global, legally binding instrument in the fight against corruption and is touted to be the most promising initiative as it is the first global framework to harmonise anti-corruption efforts worldwide.
