Everyone is capable of becoming a good Samaritan

DEATH is the great leveller. It is also an unwelcome unifier. I was reminded of this when I read Lena Khaw’s heart-warming description of the meaningful, multifaith memorial initiated by AsPaC (Assisi Palliative Care), “Great help, even after death” (The Star, Nov 18).

When death comes, all issues and debates around racial composition are dimmed and pale into insignificance. We gather to comfort each other as we go through the pain of losing a dear one, shedding the same tears that mark us out as humans.
