Prosecute owners who let violent dogs roam freely

ON Friday, Aug 18, at about 2pm, two large, black Rottweilers roaming the neighbourhood without leashes or accompanied by an adult viciously attacked our family cat of 17 years, resulting in its immediate death. Our cat had never left our compound in all his years and we had installed plastic webbing on our gates, thinking that would help to secure our area.

On that day, the bigger dog which probably weighed 36kg pushed its head through the protective mesh and attacked Kelly, our 2.3kg Persian.
