Responsibility to uphold best interest of the child

I REFER to the recent discussions concerning Muslim children born or conceived out of wedlock being denied their father’s name on the birth certificate and given the patronym “Abdullah” instead.

Refusing a child their father’s name is not only a form of discrimination but will lead to them being labelled and stigmatised for the rest of their lives.
