MEDICAL practice is very actively regulated in most countries. On the other hand, medical research, though regarded as a core professional activity, is not as actively regulated. This is rather strange, considering that medical research forms the foundation for medical practice. Prince or pauper, both are treated based on the same evidence-based research.
The body of medical evidence is not as safe and strong as it should be, due to researcher dishonesty or incompetence. This is well known to research physicians but perhaps not to others.
