Smoking neighbours killing fresh sea air

I REFER to the letter “Lack of heart in curbing smoking” (The Star, April 29). Nine years ago, we moved from a double-storey house to an apartment when my wife had difficulty walking up the stairs. As we grow older and are faced with more health problems, this seafront unit of ours has helped.

Many studies have shown that living close to the beach is beneficial to one’s health as the sea air has healing powers. I have been a cancer survivor for many years and my wife suffers from a debilitating disease, but our condition seems to have improved. I’m sure this is partly due to the clean, fresh air by the sea.
