I AM appalled by the rise in the number of smokers in Malaysia which I attribute to the half-hearted efforts of the authorities in stemming the growth of this debilitating habit.
Non-smokers are also to be partly blamed for this due to their relative inaction in pressuring the powers-that-be to protect their rights.
