Much more than a husband and wife issue

THE case of the cook, who murdered his wife for wearing clothing he deemed indecent and was sentenced to death in January, left a big impact on me.

I do have relatives who suffer through domestic violence in silence, thinking this is their lot in life as dutiful wives in the Islamic tradition.
